The great escape and the old school

Paul Carter and Victoria Wright discuss the independent living movement and disabled people’s experiences of school. They also hear from the activist Kaliya Franklin who has published a report suggesting that the government has imposed targets for the number of people found fit for work under the work capability assessment. They are joined by John Evans, who pioneered independent living in the UK, Chris O’Mahony from the Alliance for Inclusive Education’s How Was School project and Sue Elsegood from Greenwich Association of Disabled People.
